Cue ("the app") helps you teach your dog tricks in short daily sessions, using your iPhone's camera to check reps. This policy explains what data the app handles. The short version: Cue collects no data at all. There are no accounts, no servers, no analytics, no ads and no tracking. Everything the app works with stays on your iPhone.
When you start a rep check, the app reads the camera feed and uses Apple's Vision framework (animal body pose) and a small model built into the app to recognize your dog's position, all on your iPhone. Each video frame is analyzed and discarded. Nothing is sent anywhere, and we cannot see it.
While a rep check runs, the app keeps only the last few seconds of video in temporary storage on your device so it can make a clip of a verified rep. That footage is discarded unless you choose to save or share the clip.
The microphone is used only if you use it: Bark Coach, the "Speak" and "Quiet" trick checks, or the optional "Record sound in clips" setting (off by default). iOS asks your permission the first time. Audio is analyzed on your iPhone with Apple's SoundAnalysis framework to detect barks, only while the app is open, and then discarded. If you turn on clip sound, the audio stays in that clip on your device.
You can turn camera or microphone access off at any time in iOS Settings › Cue.
The clicker in Tools can mark a behavior with a quick flash of your iPhone's flashlight (torch), for example for a deaf or hard-of-hearing dog. Turning the light on and off does not use the camera, does not record anything and needs no camera permission.
Cue asks for add-only access to your photo library, and only when you tap Save on a clip. Add-only access lets the app save a clip; it cannot see, read or change anything already in your library. If you add a photo of your dog to its profile, you either take it with the camera or pick it with the standard iOS photo picker, which gives the app only the one photo you choose. It is stored on your device with your dog's profile.
When you tap Share, the standard iOS share sheet opens and you decide where the clip goes. Anything you share is then handled by the app or person you shared it with.
The playful lines your dog "says" are written on your iPhone by Apple Intelligence (Apple's on-device model) when it's available, or picked from Cue's own scripted lines when it isn't. The model is given only your dog's name, age group, the traits you picked, and today's training results. Nothing is sent to a server; we do not use Private Cloud Compute or any online AI service. Lines written by Apple Intelligence are labeled "✦ AI". There is no free-text chat.
The following is stored only on your iPhone, in the app's private storage. It is never uploaded, and we cannot see it:
Every reminder Cue shows is a local notification scheduled by the app on your iPhone: the daily training reminder and its occasional streak, weekly-recap and check-in messages, potty-break alerts, care reminders and the free-trial reminder. Cue has no push server and never registers your device for remote notifications. Training reminders may include your dog's photo, which iOS keeps on your device with the notification.
Buttons on a notification ("Start 5 minutes", "Went outside ✓", "Snooze 15 min", "Done ✓") are handled on your iPhone and only update the data listed above.
The potty-break countdown on your Lock Screen and Dynamic Island is a Live Activity that Cue starts and updates on your device; it is not updated from a server. Widgets read only the on-device snapshot described above.
You can turn notifications off in the app (Settings › Daily reminder, or the potty timer's countdown switch) or in iOS Settings › Notifications › Cue, and turn Live Activities off in iOS Settings › Cue.
Cue has no sign-up or login and never asks for your name, email address or phone number. It contains no analytics, no advertising, no crash-reporting SDK and no third-party code of any kind. It does not track you across apps or websites, does not use the advertising identifier, and never sells or shares data, because it has none to sell or share.
Links in the app (for example, this policy, Apple's Terms of Use, or source pages cited in trick-title prep) open in Safari; those websites have their own privacy policies.
Cue Plus subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple through your Apple Account. We never see or store your payment details. The app only checks with Apple, on your device, whether your subscription is active. Manage or cancel in your Apple Account settings; request refunds through Apple. Apple's handling of purchase data is covered by Apple's Privacy Policy.
Cue is a general-audience app for dog owners and is not directed to children under 13. Because the app collects no data from anyone, it collects no data from children.
Since we hold no data about you, there is nothing for us to access, correct, export or delete on our side.
If this policy changes (for example, if a future version adds an optional feature that sends data off your device), the updated policy will be posted at this address with a new effective date before that version is released, and the App Store privacy label will be updated to match.
